Orthopedic physicians target the musculoskeletal system, so if your child has any type of problem related to bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons or joints, the Pediatric Orthopedics Program is the place to call. We're prepared to diagnose and treat a wide range of congenital, developmental and traumatic conditions such as:

After a thorough assessment, we determine the services most appropriate for your child's individual condition. In addition to receiving quality orthopedic care, we work closely with all the specialists at Mission Children's Hospital so that each child receives well-rounded healthcare.
Non-surgical orthopedic services are provided in the child-friendly and peaceful environment at the Reuter Outpatient Center.

When surgery is necessary, you can count on our experience. Our orthopedic surgeon and the surgical team at Mission Children's Hospital are well qualified to perform invasive and minimally invasive orthopedic procedures. We ease anxiety and foster recovery in a child-friendly environment, where patients enjoy a recreation area filled with games and Internet access.
Recovery from many orthopedic conditions may be improved, or achieved more quickly, by following a rehabilitation program. Rehabilitation services vary from a basic exercise plan implemented at home to a supervised program using advanced hospital facilities. Our orthopedic physician coordinates an expert team, and everyone works together with you and your child to achieve maximum wellness. Rehabilitation services your child may receive include:
Physical therapy: Licensed therapists use exercise, massage, aquatic therapy and a variety of therapeutic techniques to help your child regain motion, rebuild strength and increase endurance. With a focus on education, at Mission Children's Physical Therapy Department your child may also learn to use crutches, walkers or adaptive equipment.
Occupational therapy: Mission Children's Occupational Therapy Department provides professionals trained to rebuild or develop fine motor and self-care skills.
